VelvetList does not collect, transmit or share any personal information. Everything it knows about you stays on your phone.
VelvetList is an offline periodic table reference with a quiz that drills you on all 118 elements. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.
None. There is no account, no login and no form asking who you are. The display name on the Record screen is a label you type for yourself; it is saved on the device and never sent anywhere.
For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:
None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.
None. The Android release build declares no permissions at all — not camera, location, storage or network. (Flutter adds INTERNET to debug and profile builds only, so a debugger can attach; it is not in the build published on Google Play.) On iOS no protected resource is accessed, so no usage prompts exist. History and study marks sit in a local SQLite database; settings sit in the platform preferences store.
Nothing. VelvetList has no HTTP client, no WebSocket, no cloud SDK and no backend. The element data (names, masses, configurations, constants, discovery history) ships inside the app as a read-only file, so it works the same in airplane mode.
No analytics, crash reporting, advertising, attribution or social login. The only third-party code is open-source Flutter packages running locally: storage (sqflite, shared_preferences), charts (fl_chart), confetti, animation, and share_plus. Share hands a short progress summary to your phone's share sheet; what happens next is up to you and the app you pick.
Fine for all ages, classrooms included. It collects nothing, transmits nothing and carries no ads, purchases, user content or social features, so there is no personal information to collect from a child under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR-K).
It is all on your device and under your control. No copy exists anywhere else, so there is nothing for us to access, export, correct or delete for you. Uninstalling VelvetList removes the database, the preferences and every record listed above.
If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
